I have a girl. I have a ring. The ring that I have is now on her finger. All of this is exciting.
One of the things that I wanted to do over the next year is learn to get this blog some views. I think that I have opinions and ideas that could be influential and meaningful to some other people. I have seen what a great job that my girl has done with her blog (advocateforall.wordpress.com) that I think that I need to step up my game.
One of the things that I think will make that easier is blogging up to our wedding day in July. So I think I will use this as a way to help process my feelings, emotions and excitement leading up to our special day.
On Friday evening, we got engaged and tonight I am taking some time to think over what I have learned in the last two and a half years of our dating life. And I think the biggest thing that I have learned is to never ever take anything for granted in our relationship. I find that she respects me more and things go better in general when I fully appreciate and value everything about her. I know that there are times when we joke around (and sometimes at each others expense, which I should stop a lot of the time) and have fun together, but I need to continue to learn to appreciate everything about her. Sometimes her ideas and thoughts come out crazy and out there, but I know that they come from a good place. Her heart is one of purity, help, and love. She just wants people to feel cared and spoken for, even if they can’t do it themselves.
So, to my wonderful fiance, thank you for all your ideas, caring about me unconditionally, treating me well, and making my life just that much better. I hope that we are able to continue to grow and learn together and make something beautiful. You are mine!
